09 Pre Heresy Death Guard

Something a little different...
Heres my pre heresy Death Guard army I made last year. Took me a year and a half to get it done,and it was inspired by the flight of the eisenstein book. I put a lot of TLC in this project. From the jawabases to the scratch built special characters (captain Typhon ,Ignatius Grulgor and the primarch himself), i tried to capture every detail. I ended up selling the army and starting my chaos space marines. Unfortunatly, there is no other recordings or photos for this army besides these pictures and video from Black Matts blog and Fritz' youtube channel. Just thought i should share..

Painting Death Guard

Recently, i painted a squad of Death Guard for my chaos space marine army. I used the bruising effect i learned from Black Matt in order to get the rotted, corroded feel to the models(see his blog). I used knarloc green, rotting flesh, chesnut ink, mithril silver, and badab black.
Here's how i painted them:

STEP 1
Paint all armour knarloc green

STEP 2
Paint the trim mithril silver

STEP 3
Cover the whole model with a watered down chestnut ink(or any brown wash)

STEP 4
Use a water down rotting flesh and apply bruising on armour

STEP 5
Drybrush all trim areas with mithril silver

STEP 6
Wash all silver areas with badab black
