New Heldrake Base

 I decided that i wanted a more interesting base for my heldrake. Something that could add a little more charater.

Battles of The 41st Milleneum!

Heres the final game of a league that the club ran. Mike vs Bobby(csm/necrons vs necrons/Gk).

Lots of flyers in this game and it was a tough battle.

D.I.Y Chaos Fighter

Had some extra bits lying around so i decided to make a chaos fighter. Using 4 drop pod fins and a droor along with an eldar vyper i made what turned out to be a pretty neat flyer.

Typhus, Herald of Nurgle Conversion

I wanted to try an alternative color scheme for typhus. I feel like the standard scheme is getting a bit old, plus the colors make for a much more interesting model.

Alpha Legion Daemon Prince Conversion

    This guy was really fun to build and paint. I always like the bulky look of the nurgle d. prince. The head it comes with looks so stupid to me so i replaced it with the regular prince head and used greenstuff to fill in the neck as well as blend the wings with the back.

Competitve 2k lists/Tactics

     So lately ive been trying to come up with a well balanced chaos list for some upcoming tournaments. For a while ive been using autocannon havocs as they do put out alot of firepower while still being able to go to ground for 2+ saves and snap fire at flyers. While they still prove to be sucsessful there has been an increasing problem for them. Heldrakes are becoming more and more popular and now im not the only one fielding 2 of these bad boys, they have sorta become a staple for most chaos armies since the update.

His 2k Necron/Greyknight army

Bobby runs the Battle for Salvation GTs and is a great player. He placed 4th out of 40+ players at the recent Conflict GT and got 1st at a tourney before that. Hes got a pretty tough necron list. Needless to say hes beaten me more than a few times but one day ill have my revenge!

1750 Competitive Chaos list

I really dont play 1750 but i made a variant of a 2000 pt list i usually play with. Heldrakes are pretty nasty nowadays as well as flamers. Basically everything in the list is pretty tough to wipe out. And at 1750 i dont see many armies having the firepower to take out 2 flyers and a bunch of high toughness, multi wound units.

Heres a fig originally painted by Black Matt, but im in the process of repainting it since there is paint chipping.The model looks really good with really bright eye catching colors, so i had to post it before i painted it over.

People are calling the chaos codex a "faildex"

"I'm tired of seeing posts like these on the Internet. The chaos codex is a very well balanced book. The only thing  I could see players complaining about is the lack of legion rules. The problem is that some are trying to compare units from other codex'. Don't.

Alpha Legion Chaos Terminator Lord

Had to make a proper chaos lord for my army. Was really fun to paint, especially the face. Lots of blending on the armour. Even gave him earrings. I wanted to give him a pose that made it look like he just got finished ripping the head off of a blood angel and now is charging the next enemy!

Two Heldrakes are Better Than One

 Ive been able to attend a few tournaments recently. I placed 3rd at a toywiz event and did well at a tournament in CT, placing 6th out of 20+ players going 2-1 only losing by 1 vp to UltraBob's Necron/Greyknights.I think chaos is a really tough army when used properly.

Ahriman Conversion

Ive always wanted to use Ahriman because the artwork for him is just really cool, and its great that its in color now. Its a shame that the model isnt as good as the artwork. Now with the new codex, ive made a few lists including him that could be pretty mean. So this was a perfect opportunity to finally make the Ahriman i wanted.

Alpha Legion Heldrake W.I.P + Some Chosen

The Heldrake has so much detail to pick out! It took me a day to just do the blue/green paint and the silver on the top part of the model. Still gotta do the other side and add all the little details like the eyes, claws, ect.

2000pt Chaos Space Marine Nurgle list

Alpha Legion Chaos Lord Conversion

 

 Apart from the Helbrute, I havent painted any of the chaos stuff from the dark vengance set. So i decided to try to paint the chaos lord. I replaced the sword with something different because the one it came with looked funny to me. Im gonna use green stuff on the shoulder where i cut the sword hand off and fill it in with more fur. The sword was painted to look like it had souls trapped inside it hence the smokey effect. This is also the first time ive done chipping on power armour so i hope it came out ok. I really do like this model, and i may just change my list around for the BFS tournament to use it..

Getting Inspiration to Paint

My goal is to one day win a Golden Daemon. Im always trying new ways to better my self as a painter. It really helps when you have people who are great painters at your club and can give you tips to take your models a step further.
